I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day! It was a fun-filled, busy weekend here with company, but Pat made an amazing dinner of shrimp and grits complimented by chocolates and a sweet new makeup bag. As for the gifts for our moms, we went simple and decided to send zinnia seeds instead of flower bouquets. I have read that zinnias are some of the easiest flowers to grow, and the more they are cut, the more they bloom. Potentially a gift that keeps on giving!
Meanwhile, we have been trying to grow our own zinnias from seed. We planted them about a month ago when it was still a bit chilly. But with regular watering (even Bradley has been helping out in this regard)…
We have started to see some little seedlings!
What did you do for Mother’s Day? Any crafty types out there with sweet ideas to share? Any other zinnia lovers with tips to share to us newbie gardeners?
P.S. Starting tomorrow, we will be interrupting our “regularly scheduled programming” to bring you “House-a-versary Week” in honor of us buying this house one year ago! Stay tuned!
